While chowing down on the best pizza in town (Front Street Pizza), discussing what New York City has to offer; it occurred to me the opportunities here are as endless as the pizza choices.
No one can even begin to estimate the amount of pizza we have eaten throughout the trip thus far. The toppings could range from your typical cheese, eggplant parm, to zitti pizza with with a touch of oregano. I don't know if its the thin crispy crust or the melting cheeses, but it is near impossible to get sick of eating NYC pizza. Therefore, one can say pizza is quintessential to the city as a whole pie of never ending possibilities.
Though, pizza is not just a food related to New York, but it resembles the culture of the city altogether. It symbolizes the unity of many cultures rolled into one enormous melting pot, influentially blending and molding it all together. It's the universal get-together, "let's grab a slice some time.." followed by a cup of your boldest blend. Just living here for the past month we find eating an inevitable cultural backdrop; just as that second slice of pizza.
